Giving here.https://youtu.be/zArzLr34tiA To improve our competitiveness in the air separation offerings and implement new technologies into our plants, Air Products Air Separation (ASU) business relies heavily on the ASU Cryogenics Technology Team. Our team delivers competitive cryogenic technology advancements for air separation across all ASU product lines, including structured packing, heat exchangers, reboilers and column internals. We work in collaboration with the entire Air Separation Technology and Product Line teams to deliver full plant solutions from the laboratory to the field. This requires a high level of R&D and process expertise. You will report to the ASU Cryogenic Technology Manager and play a key role in achieving these objectives by being responsible and accountable for the following: Lead conceptualization, development and economic evaluation of impactful research programs in cryogenics technology.Identify opportunities and initiate new R&D programs in air separation by exploring new trends in our industry. Lead projects to further understand fundamentals of heat and mass transfer and fluid dynamics in air separation units and develop new cryogenics technologies.Design innovative cryogenics equipment such as distributor, distillation packing, heat exchanger and work with product engineering team to move new technology from idea to implementation. Develop and execute experimental designs to push our understanding of distillation, heat transfer and two-phase fluid flow further. Work with operations to obtain plant data, conduct advanced data analysis to improve our design technologies.Develop and improve our modeling capabilities.Interface with the manufacturing organization to plan and execute research programs. Participate in mechanical and equipment design projects.Work closely with other global functional groups including the product development, operations, pilot plant and modeling & data sciences teams.Present at conferences and industrial events worldwide. Write technical and scientific reports, project proposals, papers and patents.Qualifications: The successful candidate should hold an MS or PhD degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in an industrial R&D or engineering environment.Strong technical skills and experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow are necessary to be successful. Strong process simulation, data analysis and modeling skills are also beneficial. Ability to collaborate across highly diverse team of engineers and scientists is needed.
