US Cold Storage Transportation Lead in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Working closely with Transportation Management and the local USCS management team, the Transportation Lead provides leadership assistance to the efficient execution of OS&D claims, Order Tracking, Carrier charges, and administrative support areas. This individual will consistently contribute to USCS’s key performance areas, including sales, customer satisfaction, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, safety, and sanitation, while maintaining a positive work environment. Focused on continuous improvement, this position assists in the oversight and/or contributes to the planning, development and implementation of all transportation office procedures and activities required to meet customer and administrative support requirements, striving to exceed USCS’s facility and Company goals.

  • Assist in the leadership of the USCS transportation office team in meeting customer service requirements, in building good customer relationships, and ensuring that all requests are responded to in the highest professional manner.

  • Provide administrative support in regards to exception reports, scheduling (facility and shuttle based), and OS&D claims.

  • Work with warehouse operations to monitor assigned inventory (OS&D), carrier claims, reporting, scheduling, customer requests and record keeping.

  • Assist in the hands-on oversight to the training and development of the transportation office team, including OS&D personnel, scheduling personnel, billing staff and other staff as assigned.

  • Work closely with Company information technology personnel to maximize utilization of all USCS transportation operating systems, making recommendations for improvement.

  • Help ensure that all office sanitation, safety and security activities are consistently performed within the highest USCS, OSHA and other government compliance, and within industry standards.

  • Work with the Transportation Supervisor to satisfy Company administrative requirements, including but not limited to reporting, sales proposals, accounts payable and receivable, and other general office functions.

  • Work with the Transportation Supervisor to coordinate assigned human resource related functions as they relate to administrative support, including payroll processing, record keeping, staffing, and compliance.

  • Develop good working relationships at all levels within the USCS Northeast team environment, leading and communicating as needed to maximize individual and team performance.

  • Act on the Department Supervisor’s behalf when necessary.

Education: High School Graduate required, associates or bachelor’s degree a plus

Experience: Logistics or related experience

Specialized Knowledge: AS400 and MS Office

Special Skills: Detail and customer service oriented. Planning, organizing, professional written and oral communication, problem solving, decision making, excellent mathematical skills. Must be able to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action. Valid driver’s license required.

Other Skills: Handle multiple high priority tasks in a fast paced team environment, and requires the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision. Individual must be able to handle critical and confidential matters (i.e. customer, financial, Company, human resource, etc.) in a trustworthy and professional manner.
