Cooks maintain a customer service approach in the cafeteria and kitchen setting. On the job training is provided!

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares food for patients, employees, visitors and special functions. Maintains a customer service approach at all times when fulfilling responsibilities. Ensures a professional and appropriate service standard while performing the job. Follows system wide standards as well as department specific service standards. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and customer satisfaction. Reports to the Manager or designee.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

COMMUNICATION SKILLS- Demonstrates oral, written, and electronic communication skills.

COOKING PRINCIPLES

TEAM PLAYER- Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Two years related experienced required.

Work involves walking/standing for extended periods of time

Involves stooping/bending/kneeling to perform job duties
