Travel between Geisinger facilities in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton is required
Must have valid PA driver's license
The merchandise assistant will work with the merchandise coordinator and regional managers to assist with clerical tasks, data entry, visual merchandising and inventory levels. The merchandise assistant will assist with processing invoice records, transfers, reorders, quantity adjustments, back stock, vendor relations and physical inventories. This position requires communication with all members of the retail services team as well as vendors and stores.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction as well as enhance the patient experience.
Works under the supervision of the Merchandise Coordinator.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates communication skills.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in order to enhance the patient experience.
Demonstrates ability to perform basic mathematical calculations easily.
Demonstrates ability to thoroughly complete assigned tasks accurately and timely paying attention to detail.
Basic computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or GED required.
2-4 years of previous retail experience preferred.
Requires three months of on-the-job training to become familiar with job duties and responsibilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in the gift shop.
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 lbs. Push carts with up to 50 lbs.
Travel between facilities is required (Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre and Geisinger Community Medical Center).
