JOB TITLE: Respiratory Therapist Registered

LOCATION: Geisinger South Wilkes- Barre

DEPARTMENT: Sleep Disorder Center Lab

WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings (This will be four 10-hour days. Travel will be required to Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Mt Pocono areas)

WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE; 80 hours biweekly)

JOB SUMMARY:

Assesses patients' respiratory care needs based on a variety of data. Plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates treatment modalities to meet those needs.

Performs all duties to the highest level of patient care and maximum patient satisfaction, in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System.

Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS and unit specific Service Standards.

Works under the general direction of GWV Respiratory Therapy leadership and is the assigned as the Lead on this campus.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

RRT or graduate of a COARC accredited program in respiratory therapy with registry eligibility upon graduation required. A registry eligible therapist will be required to attain registry within 6 months of date of employment.

A minimum 2 years of critical care experience.

CPR and ACLS certification required.

Current PA State license and NBRC credential maintenance required.

*Requires three months of orientation to become familiar with the hospital and established procedures and to gain proficiency.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Heavy lifting and transporting of patients and equipment is sometimes required.
